It's been almost a week since I last updated. Hell, yeah. I've been busy, being the closet mugger. My exams are starting on the 2nd of October, and yep, I'm darn nervous. Dang! The nervousness is worse than taking O Levels, I tell you. It's DO or DIE. But anyway, all that aside. I've been given quite a caring (ahem!) and sensible timetable. At least I hope I wouldn't screw up my papers.

Monday, 2nd October: General Paper, papers 1 and 2, 0800-1130
Tuesday, 3rd October: Economics, papers 1 and 2, 0800-1100
Wednesday, 4th October: Mathematics, 0800-1030
Literature in English, paper 1 (Othello and unseen poetry), 1300-1500,
paper 2 ( Coleridge), 1500-1600
Thursday, 5th October: International History, 1300-1515
Friday, 6th October: Malay, 0800-1100
Monday, 9th October: Southeast Asian History, 0800-1015

Ok. There. Neat? Maybe yes. Screwed? Oh yeah, BIG TIME. Good luck? Thanks, I'll need it. Miracles? Please, let me be the one to receive it. Help? Maybe it's too late.

Checklist:
- 3 black pens and 2 blue pens, fine, 0.38 nib, working conditions. CHECK.
- 20cm ruler, unbended, accuracy is important. CHECK.
- Correction tape, unscrewed, full. CHECK.
- Mechanical pencil, with 2B lead. CHECK.
- Eraser, clean. CHECK.
- Change from Snowboard pencil box to Spongebob pencil box, for more pen space. UN-CHECK.
Oh my god?! UN-CHECK? Tsk tsk. Ok, I'll do it tomorrow when I have the time.
- Remove Post-Its from Othello. CHECK. Done that eons ago.

The checklist is not that exhaustive. Simply because I'm a highly systematic person. I'm the QUEEN.

I'm so sorry to those unacademically inclined people reading this. Hey, we need a little academic intellectual relief therapy sometimes, you know. If you get my drift. If not, get lost. Mwahahahhahhh!!!! *Winks*.

Run, and you'll die trying.

Respect, Relax and Respond.

Promos are on the 2nd of October, not that many days now. I'm so glad that I finally showed some improvement for Lit, cos Mrs Sudhir said so. Mwahahahh...So, I'm doing well for all subjects except for Econs, which I think I am finally getting a good grasp on. I fear the promos more than O Levels. I tell you, studying for any major exam in JC is like mugging for O Levels possibly a thousand times over. No wonder we look stressed up all the time. And I mean what I said.

Heheh..I met You-Know-Who on the way out of school today. So happy..I'm elated... :)

Oh, did I mention that after the promos, we're gonna have a whole new set of timetable? I mean, the lessons have been cut short because of OP and that means we have to speak and talk and present and blab a hundred times, with at least 3 full-dress rehearsals. I guess we'll be able to memorise our scripts by then. And they said that we should bring our own laptops if we have one, cos there are 186 PW groups in AJ, and that there are less than 100 computers in the school. So, emm, I got the feeling that I have to somehow lug this laptop to school. Bleargh. What if the system jams up? What if the plugs are all taken? Tell me how to charge, then. Boos.

As usual, I never blog without finishing my work. As it is, I've completed my theme 1 for SEA. Yay! 3 more themes to go, now that I'm settled with IH. (*For all you people alien to these terms, that's your loss. I'm too lazy to elaborate them)

I was just watching this documentary about Raffles Hotel on CNA just now. It turns out that in every room, there's lots of wooden furniture. It looks spooky, so no way am I going to overnight there, if there's a chance.

I dreamt that I bought a house at some posh district. Actually, it's a condominium, and the person who was in my dream, apart from me, was a guy from AJ. My age. So, anyhoos, the name of the condominium is EMPRESS PALACE. Cool? Not. What a weird name. I wished it was SHAKIRAH'S PALACE. That's better. Anything with my name is better than the others. As it is, my name beautifies any dull thing.

Laugh your hearts out, minions.

Yes, I know the reactions from all you closet muggers everywhere. What the hell am I doing here? Ahhahahhh..all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, people. I gotta de-stress once in a while, you know. I can't be stuffing my face with Extension of the Cold War, SEAsian nationalism, Coleridge and his soppy love-sick unimaginable poems, Othello the black Moor from Othello, elasticities of demands and supply, black markets, market failures, Malay and peribahasa, GP and comprehensions, and of course, Math and integration. Speaking of which, I have managed to complete a quarter of my syllabus. Yay! Quite an achievement, I must say.

And whoever agrees that the cha cha dance which we did for PE is dumb, please say 'Aye'. It was boring, save for a girl from God-knows-which-class who, when we had to move our hands for cha cha, she was more of like doing the chicken flapping its wings. Mwahahahha!!! I'm evil and I know it. She looked too damn ugly, and obviously, with actions like that, she's subjecting herself to criticism.

I'm Evil And I Know It. Period.

I've signed up for hip hop for the Festival of Life. Apparently, Farhana and Hilyah are joining the duo of me and Isyah. Yay! The four of us shall rock the house! Weets! Even despite the fact that I've got classmates who think that we might lose our stamina and die from EXTREME EXHAUSTION from doing hip hop, since we're all fasting on that day.

Which brings me to my next point. We're going to begin fasting this Sunday. That's good, cos that means Raya is coming. Woohooo!

Oh bloody friggin hell, I really need to exercise my control from any electronic devices during this period. I know I said that for the umpteenth time, but this time, I'm sure I can do it. Yeah! This abstinence better produce results, I tell you.

I'm Evil, And So Are You...

till then...

toodles!
So here I am! Whee! Wokays...yesterday, after school, I learnt the moves for the hip hop dance, and it was pretty interesting, though at times, I think I may have twisted my arms. But oh well, I enjoyed it LOADS. The song was from the movie 'Take the Lead'. It's kind of fast beat, like pumping up your energy level. Heheh...

The week went well for me, except for History timed practice last Tuesday. It was fine, but NOT THAT GOOD as well. I figured that I have to do something about my brain and memorizing capacity, or else, I'll fail my essays. Na-uh-huh. I wouldn't want that.

I absoutely adore Kim. Ok, not KIM YEE YAN, the hot President of the Council in my school, but LEE CHIN KIM, one of my best mates in class. She's so adorable. I call her Kimmie for short, cos it really suits her personality. You know, like every morning, when I see her, she'll be like, "Hi Shakirah! How are you today?" Then, she'll have this goofy smile. LOL. That's so cute, it brightens up my day. Of course, you just have got to meet Kimmie to really know her well. She's such a bear. When she sees something, like for example, my pink bottle, she'll be like, "Hello Pink!" Heheh..Woots!

Ramadhan is nearing. Not that I'm anxious or whatever. I'm just excited, cos that means hari raya is coming! I hope I become a better person, or in Isyah's and Farhana's terms, be more FEMININE. Ok ladies, I shall try... :)

For the Festival of Life (Post-promo activities), I signed up for Hip Hop with Isyah, Farhana and Hilyah. Yeah! The four of us shall rock the house, even though we're fasting. Heheh...

I had such a fun day today in school. First, during PE, I played soccer with the ever hyperactive Vic and the neutral party, Aisyah and Hui Qi. We were like running all over the place because we wanted to chase the stupid ball that is like so keras. So anyhoos, we played pretty well, I mean, considering that I sort of grew up with soccer. If only AJ had a female soccer team, I would join it. According to reliable sources, such as Ms Minah Aisyah, I was pretty rough. Ok, I admit. I actually kicked the ball and it made a red spot on her right thigh. Ok minah, just wanna say that I'm terribly sorry, but hey, you gotta admit it. Soccer knows no safety precautions. At least, that was how I viewed it. Mwahahah...I really enjoyed playing soccer, and I didn't really care about getting hit thrice on both my shins. My shoes were obviously wet and mucky, but, that's the whole essence of the sport.

Then, when I had to go one step up to get into the computer lab, I tripped and almost fell. Gosh, in front of Danial at that! But, no big deal. All my malay classmates (there's 4 including me, for the record) know my antics, so what else is new?

I finally mastered the Malay dance. I got Aisyah to teach me in the showering toilet, where there's this full-length mirror so we can see our movements. And I absolutely lurrvvvee the whole dance. I can't wait to learn hip hop tomorrow. The hip hop song 'Take the Lead', and I enjoyed the fast beat.

To all my dance girls, we're gonna rock the house. YEAH!

P.S.: I hope Hady is not gonna be eliminated tonight...:/

Yep, I know. I'm home! There's no MLDDS today. But after my consultation with Mrs Sudhir just now, Nash caught me. Here's the conversation between us.

Nash: Shakirah, huge crisis.
Me: Apasal?
Nash: Mr Alex Lee wants to see the dance for farewell assembly by this Friday.
Me: What? (eyes open wide) Mana boleh seh?
Nash: Yeah. This Friday. I asked if the choreographers can be the ones to dance first.
Me: That's a great idea.
Nash: But he said he wants to see the whole group of dancers dance.
Me: But you know the hip hop dance is hard to master.
Nash: I know. But macam mana ni? We have to do it by this Friday.
Me: Ok, I'll try asking Aisyah. She might have a solution. I will get back to you yeah?
Nash: Ok.

Tsk tsk.. AJ MALAY/HIP HOP/TANGO DANCE CRISIS.

We'll get through this. Oh Jas, why oh why did you choreograph the hip hop dance until it's like so complicated????
Everyone should take a break and have some laugh even though there's the STRESS CRISIS roaming around everywhere now. I shall just POKE fun at the RJC students. But no offense to anyone, yeah? I caught this while reading someone else's blog and thought that I shall post it.

After all, RJC students are SMART. =)

When the RJC students are faced with the A Levels, these might be some of the things which they might say:

1) What? This question....AGAIN?!
2) Erm..Sir, are you sure this is the A Levels?
3) Hey! I did this when I was in Primary 3!
4) It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out...:/
5) This question looks familiar. Isn't it on Page 43 Question 6 of the Ten Year Series, November 2001 paper?
6) I'm doomed a failure if I can't answer this awfully easy question...
7) Aww, come on! Are you kidding me? Surely the A Levels are tougher than this?!!!
8) I've finished the paper...and what?! It's only been 5 minutes?!?!
9) This question is such a no-brainer. I decided to forgo this one. No damage done, anyway...
10) I'm sure I'll be the top RJC student. Imagine that....I'll have the world at my feet...

Laugh your heads out, everyone. To any RJ student reading this, I'm terribly sorry, but hey, being smart means being open to criticisms...Hell yeah...All smiles everyone...

i tell you, I'm so friggin' upset when during the course of one hour for Math just now, my name has four different versions! Four different versions, I tell you! There's this teacher who reliefed Mrs Goh, by the name of Mr Lau. He's a nice man, very patient with the whole lot of us who are extremely slow with Math. But anyhoos, let me go direct to the crux of it all.

When he called out my name, it was right the first time. SHAKIRAH. That's fine by me. However, as the time creeps by, the name SHAKIRAH changed into a different one. The second time he called, it was SHAKRAH. Where's the 'I'? Is it like missing or something? Argghhhh!!!!! Then, about 15 minutes later, the name changed to SHAKIYAH. Hello?!! It's an 'R', NOT A 'Y'! I tell you, I tried to correct him, but still, that stiff tongue refused to soften and speak my name PROPERLY. When I tried correcting him, he said, "Aiyah. I just call you SHAK." My mouth dropped like really big. SHAK??!!!! Of all names? Yong Yong was, obviously, laughing, till perhaps the tonsils might drop off. They all thought that he's calling me the SHARK. =/

So, Mr Lau, say it with me. SHA-KI-RAH. SHAKIRAH. SHA-KI-RAH. SHAKIRAH. COME ON, SAY IT WITH ME, AND GET MY NAME RIGHT. You #%^$*!@ thing!

Some things are bound to stay the same...

Ok, my butt hurts from sitting in front of the laptop, multi-tasking.

Recap yesterday's events:
I followed my parents to go fetch my grandparents and my grandma's sister and Mak Anjang's family at Senai Airport in Johore. Those little twits had to stay at home. Yafoohh!!! (Ok, now I miss Paul...). Anyhoos, we reached there at around 10.45pm, and during the half an hour which we waited, we walked around the airport. I can't help but think how sad it was that only two shops are still open at that hour - the Famous Amos cookie shop and the Tropical Fruit Shoppe. Tsk tsk. Don't ask me why.
Anyhoos, we waited and waited and I stared at the Bangladeshi workers cleaning the floor. Oh, I went to the toilet, and it was simply superb. Damn high-class, I tell you. The sink is not a sink, but this slope thingie that is sloping inwards. Ok, hands up you those who can't get what I'm saying. It's so cool, I wanted to stay in there.
But, I had to go out. The reason was that they have landed, and I had to somehow greet them. And that's when I saw my second cousins. Azim, Nasuha, Nafisah, Hannan and the other one, God-knows-what's-her-name. I smiled my ever dimpled smile and then, attempted to talk to Azim, who's a year older. We didn't get far, just some little exchange. :/ Believe me, I regret not being close to them since I was young.
When we reached home, it was already close to 2am. I changed up and headed straight for bed. Dang! I was so tired, I slept immediately. Needless to say, I didn't go for madrasah today though there's supposed to be Kira'in (random Quran reading). So, at around 8.40am, I messaged ustazah and my lovely winnie the poohs and told them that I couldn't go for madrasah. What a waste. I had wanted to tell Aslinda what happened this past week. She's so looking forward to it.

Ok, I better test my reflexes now, since school's reopening tomorrow and I still have yet to complete my homework. I need my superb reflexes to write essays, yah...

toodles!

Yay! My grandmother is coming home from Sabah tomorrow! I hope that I can fetch her from Senai Airport.

I chatted with one of my old friends from MF just now. He said that he had changed into a very different person, and that he regrets not being polite last time. he was like, "serious..". And my dumb response? "I don't know honey..I don't know what you have turned out to be." I can't help thinking to myself..If he had realised that earlier, would things have been different between us?

Maybe some things are meant to stay mysterious. I don't know. Just My Luck.

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

I hate to see my mate turning into a paedophile and pervert overnight. He just entertains and be sadistic and laughs his evil thoughts off. Tsk tsk. He needs a counsellor. But oh wells.

So much for a hiatus. I thought that perhaps I should at least like get on the darn computer once in a while to kind of console myself. I thought maybe a brief hiatus would be appropriate. Maybe till the promos are over. By the way, I'm celebrating today because I have completed my origins of the cold war lecture notes for tomorrow's timed practice. When it was announced that there would be a timed practice during the holidays, I had mixed reactions. The first thing that came to my mind: "Dang! It's the holidays, can't you see?" The second thing that came to mind: "Might as well. I can at least sense how dumb or smart I am." So, filled with gusto and determination to do well for promos and at least get promoted, I started mugging from the Teachers' Day holiday up till today. I tell you, I mugged like never before. And it suddenly dawned upon me that since I started mugging, it felt like studying for the O Levels countless times over. It sucks, but who gives a damn? An A level cert is as good as an O level cert. :)

Met up with my ex-classmates. Leonard sure haven't grown any taller than I did. Bion had, well, ballooned up, prolly due to tennis. Bao was getting more radiant, what with that fabulous skin and that long hair. Javian was kinda cute, like some star with some soft-spoken attitude. Perfect. I was surprised at what happened to Brandon, though. I half-expected him to go all brown or blonde, but his hair stayed black. Looks decent. Ok, I can't really comment on everyone right now. Save for a few.

Ok, to all who are having their promos, all the best and may we all get promoted! Yay! And please, those of you who read articles for GP, do a good deed and tell me what's happening around the world except the IMF. Toodles!
